The world is full of amazing natural phenomena and occurrences and this why earlier people believed that the world is magical. Here are some of the mind blowing natural phenomena you would love to see with your naked eye.
Some of the Most Mind Blowing Natural Phenomena
The Maracaibo lake in Venezuela has witnessed some of the most abnormal lightning, the ceaseless streaks of Catatumbo lightning that have captivated the very interests of scientists, explorers, researchers, and artists for centuries. For nearly half the year and up to ten hours a day, the natural methane and oil deposit-caused phenomenon can be easily observed in the vivid bucolic Venezuelan horizon up to 280 times an hour. Although it can happen that when you visit the vivid land of Venezuela the lightning isn’t to be observed, fret not; while these flashes of light are technically momentary and occasional, Catatumbo lightning has manifested itself into the melody of the state’s anthem. Now isn't it a mind blowing natural phenomena?
While an abstract artist’s thoughts on spring seem more akin to a pastel-tinted picture of nacreous clouds than natural science, the divine clouds owe their pristine coloring and effects to the stratosphere in which they reside. Alternately dubbed the cloud called the “mother of pearl” due to its iridescent coloring, displays the mind blowing natural phenomena that may only be observed in the early evening or dawn and that also in particularly frigid regions at distances of 9 to 16 miles above ground. So the shoutout goes for all of you Loch Ness Monster hunters scaling the depths of Scotland’s Inverness, don't get all worked up if you don’t end up discovering Nessie, just look above you and you might stand the witness to something just as mystical. Given the cloud’s peculiar shape, coloring and moments of visibility, many individuals who aren’t familiar with the cloud often mistake it for a UFO.
Unfortunately, our beloved weather experts within the weather world would be quick to tell you that what you might call a fire rainbow is actually a circumhorizontal arc. All extremely long adjectives aside, you might be fortunate enough to witness this mind blowing natural phenomena swaying among the clouds and notice that it is actually cold as ice and not related to rainbows whatsoever.
This phenomenon is particularly regarded as one of the rarest naturally occurring phenomena, for the fire rainbow to be viewed like this very specific elements must be at play: first of all, the clouds through which the light refracts must be at least 20,000 feet in the air and must also be of the cirrus variety. Furthermore, precisely an angle of 58 degrees has to be formed by the Sun. What this simply translates to is the fact that those picnicking in the park in the United States are more viable to be warmed by the icy light’s technicolor rays than those in Northern Europe regions given the region’s extreme fluctuations in sunlight. Sorry, Denmark.
The mind blowing natural phenomena commonly known as sun dogs has beguiled philosophical greats from Aristotle all the way to Descartes. The Sun Dog sighting was the one, that caused Descartes to take a break from his metaphysical studies and write his globally acclaimed book on natural philosophy aptly called “The World”. The Sun Dog also consists of vertically-aligned ice crystals just like the Fire rainbow. When the angle is right it creates a horizontal refraction and halo-shaped figure around the sun.
Never has the sight of dead krill and trapped sediment on ice been more beautiful. The zebra-like striped icebergs were spotted floating around 1,700 miles south of Cape Town– these are the result of ice crystals forming beneath an iceberg and rising up to the iceberg’s bottom, amazingly enough trapping a dark-colored sediment and a kind of krill within it.
While the inferno havocing twister is typically seen for only a few minutes at a time, its devastating effects can certainly seem eternal. The fire whirls formed are 10 to 50 meters tall and formed by unique air temperatures and currents and have enough force to uproot a tree up to 50 feet tall. Now that right there gives us an amazing and mind blowing natural phenomena but its pretty destructive though…
Monarch Butterfly Migrations
The migration of the monarch butterfly is surrounded by some rare kind of a mystery. The only butterfly is known to make such north-south migrations like birds and capable of making transatlantic crossings are the ones found here. Scientists are still baffled and perplexed by the butterfly’s uncommon ability to return to the same spots year after year–since no single butterfly can make it all the way. Since the lifespan of the Monarch butterflies is approximately two months, females–largely immune themselves to predators given that they are poisonous to birds–lay eggs along the way, thus making it possible for the several-month cycle which in return continues indefinitely in spite of their mortality.
