In the top-five round Chhillar was asked which profession according to her deserved the highest salary. My mother has always been the biggest inspiration in my life. All mothers sacrifice so much for their kids, so, I think it is the job of a mother that deserves the highest salary,” Chhillar said to a wide-applause.
Her personal motto, as described on the website, reads: “When you cease to dream you cease to live” and “Courage to give flight to your dreams and the ability to believe in yourself makes life worth living”.
She used to juggle studies, workout schedule and other pageant preparations. How she started off?
I am elated, to say the least. Winning a beauty pageant and the Miss India title was always a dream. I was always focused on my studies and wanted to be a doctor, but like every girl, I would also dream to be at a beauty pageant at least once in life," says Manushi.
"That was the reason why I participated in the auditions. I was in Chandigarh when I got to know about the auditions and it was my parents who encouraged me to go and at least try my luck. And I really can't believe where I stand today," says Manushi, who juggled studies, workout schedule and other preparations in these three months. "My entire college life changed the day I was selected in the auditions. During those days, other students in the hostel would be sleeping and I would get up early to work out, and then return to attend classes. So, while preparing, I tried my best to not miss too many classes.
When other students would study after classes, I would go out again to work out and then study in the night. As a medical student, you have to study every day. You can't cover the syllabus by studying for a few nights before your exam. Other students in the hostel would think that I have gone crazy, and sometimes found it funny," she adds.
