How Does The Immune System Work

The Immune system is just like a Bodyguard to the body. If there exists an improper immune system means that the body will prone to diseases. The Immune system consists of many types of cells and tissues. If anyone cell gets damaged means then it will become a house for the invading antigens / foreign particles. Our skin is also a part of the immune system.

Working Of The Immune System

First of all, if any foreign particles invade the body the immune system will detect the antigen and will destroy the antigens. This can be done if one has a good immune system. The working of the immune system is different for each individual. Adults have a high level of the immune system than infants and the oldest. A small example is that sneezing is caused when foreign particles try to enter the body. The immune system predicts and does not the foreign particles to enter the invaders’ body through sneezing.

B-lymphocytes are the substance which detects the antigen and produce antibodies to arrest the antigen, thereby making the phagocytes to kill the antigen. Antibodies consist of a chemical substance called IMMUNOGLOBIN (Ig) which is most important in the immune system. There are many types of antibodies.  They are:

                             Types  of

                Antibodies (Ig)

  • Ig G
  • Detect the antigens.
  • Ig M
  • Kills bacteria.
  • Ig A
  • Secures the body which is found in saliva and tears.
  • Ig E
  • Protects against parasites.
  • Ig D
  • Linked with B-lymphocytes.

The End-Up:

Though other systems in the body work effectively to fight antigens the immune system detects and murders the antigens which help for life survival.
