Until now, the fastest means of traveling to any part of the world has been the airways. Taking the path of the sky to reach any place is considered a privilege. Of course, space travel is something everyone dreams of if only it is possible. Oh wait, maybe it is not impossible. Puzzled? As a matter of fact, we are all puzzled with what has been put in front of us by the great technology genius, Elon Musk. Musk has always been in the news since he announced his plan of creating a city on the Mars planet, the reason behind establishing the very popular SpaceX in the year 2002. And now he is aiming to build a space rocket airline that can create a basecamp on the moon and also can fly people across different parts of the world in minimum time. Musk’s proposed craft which flies at a maximum speed of 27,000 km/hour can make a hypersonic trip from New York to Shanghai in just 39 minutes! Yes, you read it right. A non-stop air travel for the same trip would take 15 hours. Any guesses on how much time would it take to travel from Los Angeles to Toronto and London to Dubai? It’s just 24 minutes and 29 minutes respectively. This spacecraft can take any place in this entire world in less than an hour. And what comes as a bigger surprise is that the cost per seat to travel in this craft is same as full fare economy in an aircraft. Cool, isn’t it?

Elon Musk said in his speech at the International Aeronautical Congress, "If we're building this thing to go to the moon and Mars, why not go other places as well?”
Certainly, in order to make this happen, Elon Musk must consider the solutions to many technical hurdles that will come in the way. Though this rocket promises fast traveling, making profits out of this project is a major challenge. One more is the challenge associated with the supersonic retropulsion which is required to land this space rocket airline.
One year ago, at the same speech, Elon Musk introduced a huge rocket which was then considered to be detached from reality by the critics. However, this time Elon Musk and his SpaceX team revised the rocket design and presented it, which is termed as BFR. Musk said, "I think we've figured out how to pay for it, this is very important." Regarding the Mars colonization, he even said, “We’ve already started building the system. The tooling for the main tanks is being ordered, and the facility is being built. We’ll start construction of the first ship by around the second quarter of next year, within six to nine months." Speaking about how they are planning to fund this project of BFR (Big Expletive Rocket), Musk said, “All our resources will turn toward building BFR,” Musk said. “And we believe we can do this with the revenue we receive from launching satellites and servicing the space station.”
Well, all we hope is that this space rocket airline becomes a success providing everything it aims to. Stay with us to get more updates on this prestigious project of SpaceX.
